George was born in 1881. George's father was George Turpin Blackler and his mother was Susan Emma Horrell. His paternal grandparents are Richard Henry Blackler and Mary Ann Turpin. He had a brother and four sisters, named Earnest Henry, Beatrice Emma, Minnie Horrell, Emma and Lily. He was the oldest of the six children. He had a half-brother named Roy. He died at the age of 78 in 1959.
