Arthur was born on March 5th, 1915 in Croydon,Surrey , England. Arthur's father was Alan Kenward and his mother was Ella Spalding. His paternal grandparents were Spencer Kenward and Lucy Payne. He had three brothers and a sister, named Jack, George, Albert and Irene. He was the youngest of the five children. He died at the age of 64 in 1979 in Croydon, Surrey, England.
