Beatrice was born in 1906 in Horley, Surrey, England. Beatrice's father is Alfred Wells and her mother was Elizabeth Kenward. Her maternal grandparents were Josiah Kenward and Mary Maynard. She had three sisters named Mary, Florance and Signoretta. She is the second youngest of the four children.
