Albert was born on January 25th, 1901 in Norwood, Surrey, England. Albert's father was George Longley and his mother was Lilian Bates. His paternal grandparents were Edgar Longley and Ellen Snell. He had a brother and two sisters, named Frederick, Daisy and Elsie. He was the second youngest of the four children. He died at the age of 64 in September 1965 in Greenwich, London, England.
