JESSE KENWORTHY BIGGS KENWORTHY LESLIE BIGGS
Their son JESSE KENWORTHY BIGGS was born on May 12, 1859, at North Row, Lewisham, Kent.  When he was eight, his father died.  The following year his mother married George Stubbs.  In the census of April 7, 1871, he is living with his mother and stepfather and his brother and sister, his occupation is given as scholar. On February 5, 1880, when he was 20, he married Fanny Holloway aged 21 at St. Mark’s Church, Lewisham. Their first child, a daughter named Rosina Mary, was born on September 4, 1880, at 52 Avenue Road, Lewisham. A son, Jesse Kenworthy, was born on April 11, 1882, at 137 High Street, Lewisham. Henry William was born on February 3, 1884 at 9 College Place. Susan Elizabeth was born on October 7, 1889, at 9 Willow Grove, Mill Lane. Helen Gwendoline was born on March 23, 1892, at 9 Willow Grove, Mill Lane. Jesse and Fanny stayed at this same house, although the house was renumbered 66 Mill Road in 1893. Jesse was a Blacksmith and a Journeyman Farrier by 1889 but, in January 1896, he developed tuberculosis and nine months later, on October 8, 1896, he died of this and bronchitis. His widow, Fanny, married, in 1897, one Thomas Jeffery.  They had a daughter, Daisy May, in 1900.  Fanny died October 22, 1901, of Erysipelas and exhaustion.

JESSE JOHN KENWORTHY

Their son, JESSE JOHN KENWORTHY, was born on the April 11, 1882, at 137 High Street, Lewisham.  When he was 14, his father died.  His mother married Thomas Jeffery in 1897, but she died four years later, when Jesse was 19.  In February 1905, at the age of 22, he married Olive Ada Kenward aged 22 in Lewisham.  Their first child a daughter, Iris Olive, was born on November 12, 1905 in Catford.  A son, Kenworthy Leslie, was born on the April 16, 1913, at Kilarn Road, Catford and Marjorie Winifred was born on April 10, 1916, at Woodside, Croydon.  Jessie was a sorter in the foreign section of the G.P.O. in London.  He developed meningitis during the Great War and died from this in Tring Hospital, Hertfordshire on the June 9, 1918, aged 36.

Their son KENWORTHY LESLIE was born on the April 16, 1913.  He was 5 when his father died.  His mother moved from Catford to Hever, Kent, in the early 1920's.  In 1931, when Kenworthy was 18, they moved to Brighton.  Olive never remarried and brought the three children up by herself.  She was able to see all her children grow up and marry and she died on the September 12, 1966, at the age of 83, in Shoreham, West Sussex.  On the August 21, 1933, at the age of 20, Kenworthy married Ruby Woolgar, aged 22, at Brighton Registry Office.  Kenworthy and Ruby's first child was a daughter, Denise Rhita, born November 10, 1933, at Lewes.  Their son, Trevor Kenworthy, was born on December 17, 1936, at Lisbon, Stangrove Road, Edenbridge and a further son, Kevin Kelby, was born on August 30, 1944, at Swansea, Wales.  Kenworthy and Ruby moved to Lewes in 1933, and then moved to Crowborough for 2 years.  In 1935, they moved to Heaver and then, in 1944, Ruby and the two children were evacuated during the Second World War to Swansea, where she had her third child. Kevin.  Shortly after this, they moved to Hove, Brighton, where they remained until 1958, when they moved to Shoreham.
